Emily comes to visit!
Well it's about time I blogged about my sister in law, Emily, coming to visit us and the Big Apple. The original plan was for both of us to fly out together but then I got stuck working an extra shift so she came out before me so she could get a longer vacation in! We had so much fun while she was out here. Emily and Scott walked through the city on Sunday and then came to pick me up from the airport that night. After my plane was put in a holding pattern... twice... I was more than excited to get off that plane and see them! On the 4th Emily and I went on a little adventure while Scott worked most of the day. We went to the nautical mile which consisted of little shops and restaurants. I think this would have been really fun had we been there in the evening when the live music and everything was open. We got there around noon and the shops were just opening. Then we headed to the Hamptons. We stopped in Southampton and found a cute little deli to eat at. We ended up people watching more than eating because it was quite entertaining. Then we walked down their main street and went window shopping. I couldn't believe how much money a simple plain t-shirt cost that really wasn't that great of material! We walked right past Kourtney Kardashian on the sidewalk with her boyfriend and baby in front of her, ha ha not a big deal! Then we met up with Scott and went to see some fireworks that we may or may not have trespassed on someone's lawn to be able to see them. :) Finally on tuesday Emily and I ventured back into the city to Central Park, China Town, and Little Italy before she had to get to the airport. We walked for quite sometime in Central Park and kinda got lost. We had to ask direction of how to get out. We drove around China Town and it looked a little sketchy so Emily didn't want to park and get out. So we really spent our time in Little Italy. We ate at a cute little restaurant called Mambo Italiano and had some traditional spaghetti and meatballs. It was quite the weekend we had and are so glad she came to visit us! We had a blast!
