We made a little trip to go see one of the many lighthouses out here on Long Island. The parking lot for the lighthouse was actually the one used to go to the beach so we had to walk quite a ways on the boardwalk to go to the lighthouse. It was a cool experience. I had no idea there were reasons for the different colors and light patterns for each lighthouse.

| This deer was literally 3 feet from the boardwalk trying to find some grub to eat. It wasn't even scared off by the little kid screaming crying right by it. |
One final thought-
"My dear brothers and sisters, today, as we look at the world around us, we are faced with problems which are serious and of great concern to us. The world seems to have slipped from the moorings of safety and drifted from the harbor of peace. Permissiveness, immorality, pornography, dishonesty, and a host of other ills cause many to be tossed about on a sea of sin and crushed on the jagged reefs of lost opportunities, forfeited blessings, and shattered dreams. My counsel for all of us is to look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. It beckons through the storms of life. The lighthouse of the Lord sends forth signals readily recognized and never failing." - Pres. Thomas S. Monson April 2010 Conference
